The CLAT Consortium has notified the instructions for candidates slated to take the admissions test on September 28.
Pertinently, the revised instructions bar candidates who have tested positive for COVID-19 or are in quarantine from taking the test on September 28.
It has been announced that the Common Law Admissions test will be held in the afternoon from 2 PM to 4 PM, on September 28.
Candidates are expected to reach the exam venues an hour before the test commences, the communication states.
It is also emphasized that no candidates shall be permitted into the venue after 15 minutes from the test’s commencement.
A candidate may carry only the following into the exam hall:
- Blue/Black Ball Pen
- Admit Card
- Any Government issued – Photo I.D. Proof
- Transparent water bottle
- Own mask, gloves and personal hand sanitizer (50ml).
- Self-Health Declaration
- Disability Certificate for PWD candidates
Any candidate found indulging in any form of copying or giving/receiving assistance would be disqualified and liable to further action.
Additionally, no clarification can be sought from any person during the test.
The test will comprise 150 questions for admissions to the undergraduate law programmes (CLAT UG) and 120 questions for admissions to the postgraduate programmes (CLAT PG).
Every wrong response will result in a deduction of 0.25 marks, it is specified.

As a general instruction, the Instructions prohibit candidates from carrying electronic/ communication devices such as mobile phones, watches, calculator, headphones, etc in the exam hall.
It is also declared that staff on duty at the test centre shall not be responsible for any loss of property/gadgets of the candidates.
Rough sheets used by the candidates must specify their roll numbers at the top and must be disposed at a dropbox before the candidate leaves the hall.
